Membership

Membership in the ASFA is an investment in your future as a florist.  The ASFA provides several educational programs to its members each year that help them learn and grow as designers, managers, and owners.  Our annual convention (with discounted rates for members!) is held in September and is one of the best ways to see a panel of distinguished and accomplished instructors and designers all in one setting in one weekend.  Our annual Bridal Show in January (also discounted to members) provides instruction and inspiration for all florists that attend.

Dues for ASFA members are a minimal $50 per year for an Active Member and $35 for an Associate Member (see descriptions below)…one of the best investments you will ever make for your business.  The annual fee for Active Members covers every staff member of your shop, so that all employees can attend our events at the discounted rate.

To become a member or to renew your ASFA membership:

Download the Membership application below and mail to the address listed on the form along with your check for annual dues.  For retail florists, wholesalers, or event/wedding florists, please include a copy of your state business license and/or your state tax id number.

Please note that ASFA dues are renewable each year beginning in January.

 

Active Voting Members:

  • Retail Florists with a brick and mortar storefront, a current business license, and a valid sales tax ID number
  • Wholesale Florists
  • Dealers or their representatives in florist supplies and accessories
  • Commercial growers of flowers or plants
  • Senior active florist, retired and semi-retired from any of the above categories
  • Wedding and/or Event Designers with a current business license and a state sales tax number
Associate Members (non-voting):
  • Retail florist located outside the State of Alabama
  • Wholesale florist located outside the State of Alabama
  • Dealers or their representatives in florist supplies and accessories, living outside the State of Alabama
  • Commercial growers of flowers or plants located outside the State of Alabama
  • Professors and students
  • Wire service or sub-organizations
  • Individuals supportive of the floral industry
  • Freelance Florists
